Working Group (WG) dedicated to promoting more resilient and sustainable food systems. One of its main initiatives is the Regenerative Agriculture Task Force, focused on understanding, defining, and applying the principles of regenerative agriculture in production chains for climate adaptation in agriculture.
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
To promote regenerative food systems, drive agricultural practices that restore agricultural ecosystems, soil health, and the water cycle to increase the resilience of rural communities in the face of global climate challenges.
HOW TO ACHIEVE IT?
Several actions will be carried out, including:
CONTEXT
Prioritizing regenerative practices that strengthen soil health, such as the use of cover crops, crop rotation, and crop-livestock-forest integration (ILPF), is increasingly recognized as one of the fundamental pillars for the agricultural sector. These practices not only increase long-term productivity, but also contribute to adaptation to climate change, water conservation, and the promotion of biodiversity, becoming an essential approach to promote food security and the resilience of agricultural systems in the face of global challenges.
