BRAZILIAN COALITION FOR WATER RESILIENCE

The Brazilian Coalition for Water Resilience, linked to the +Water Movement, promotes water security in stressed watersheds by connecting them with companies that want to invest in water security actions and organizations that conserve and restore. The initiative reflects the global ambition of the Water Resilience Coalition project, promoted by the CEO Water Mandate of the UN Global Compact.

WHAT IS THE GOAL?

The project seeks to mobilize companies and partners to ensure positive and scalable impacts, addressing water security strategically and regionally in Brazilian biomes.

HOW TO ACHIEVE IT?

Through conservation, preservation, and restoration actions, as well as specific solutions for water supply and basic sanitation, the initiative promotes benefits that go beyond environmental protection, directly impacting the resilience of companies and the communities that depend on them.

The Brazilian Coalition for Water Resilience presents a portfolio of concrete activities that offer direct and measurable benefits for companies and communities. Examples include the construction of small dams for water capture, maintenance of fencing, and restoration of degraded areas, which ensure aquifer recharge and spring preservation.

Other actions, such as the installation of cisterns for rainwater capture and biodigester septic tanks, promote sustainability in water use and treatment, aligning business operations with environmental and social demands. By enabling initiatives like these, companies demonstrate their commitment to a sustainable future, aligning with global best practices in environmental governance.

CONTEXT

Investing in water security is not only a matter of socio-environmental responsibility, but also an essential strategy for business resilience. Water scarcity, intensified by climate change, directly affects industrial, agricultural, and commercial operations, jeopardizing the continuity of economic activities.

By participating in this initiative, companies contribute to the protection of water resources essential to their value chains, while strengthening their image and reputation with consumers and investors who demand commitment to sustainable practices. Furthermore, actions such as restoration and preservation of riparian forests help mitigate carbon emissions, contributing to adaptation and combating climate change.

WHAT DOES YOUR COMPANY GAIN?

In addition to ensuring the continuity of their businesses, companies that invest in projects like this assume a leading role in building a more resilient and sustainable economy.

By contributing to the protection of watersheds, biodiversity preservation, and climate resilience, they not only help mitigate the impacts of climate change, but also promote a positive legacy for future generations.

In this context, investing in water is investing in structural solutions for society, ensuring business longevity and the health of the planet.
