Environment for dialogues aimed at solutions that accelerate the decarbonization of road transport, with collective actions, training, publications, and engagement of the value chain.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS?
The main goal is to accelerate the decarbonization of the road transport sector.
HOW TO ACHIEVE IT?
The Biofuels and Electric HUB institutionalizes an environment conducive to dialogue and discussions to identify challenges, opportunities, and solutions for the issue of carbon emissions in the commercial road transport sector, based on listening to experts from the business sector, researchers, government authorities, and other stakeholders as a way to identify challenges.
CONTEXT
The transition to net zero transport requires an unprecedented pace of scaling up the use of existing low-carbon solutions and adopting new, more efficient, and clean technologies. This will demand drastic changes in all sectors, in addition to the development of infrastructure and completely new business models.
To achieve the Great Leap in the road transport sector that leads to Net Zero in 2050, the public and private sectors need to work together to promote alternative fuels, accelerating technological development and investments in low-carbon energy, along with the need to use different energy technologies, in addition to regulation with public policies that encourage green initiatives.
Many countries are offering greater clarity to companies in their intention to accelerate the market penetration of cleaner and more economical vehicles. To accelerate this process, companies themselves are setting bold fleet efficiency and acquisition goals, which makes the HUB a centralizing project in Brazil for companies engaged in the agenda.
Through the Biofuels and Electric HUB, it will be possible not only to identify, but also to strategically address the challenges and opportunities faced by the business agenda, aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda established by the United Nations (UN). With a specific focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7 (Clean and Affordable Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and 13 (Climate Action), as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships and Means of Implementation), the HUB will serve as a catalyst for private sector engagement in achieving these goals.
